Trent Lawrie

Trent is a young Pounamu carver based in Tauranga. A keen hunter who loves hiking and spending time in nature, Trent draws much of his inspiration from New Zealand’s unique flora and fauna.

He began his carving journey working with bone and quickly transitioned to Pounamu, where he has now been creating taonga for over three years. Mostly self-taught, Trent has a deep appreciation and respect for many different materials, and this care is evident in the quality and intention behind his work.
