Thank you for supporting a small Maori family owned business.

Wakahuia is a traditional Māori carved wooden container, used to store precious items like huia bird feathers, pendants, and personal ornaments. The boxes themselves were treated as taonga (treasures), often named and passed down through generations. Because the heads of high-ranking chiefs were tapu (sacred), items touching their hair were also sacred and dangerous to others, requiring safe storage.

Kauri - Agathis Australis, commonly known by its Māori name Kauri, is a coniferous tree in the family Araucariaceae, found north of 38°S in the northern regions of New Zealand's North Island. Kauri wood colour ranges from pale yellowish-white and light blonde to a warm golden brown, darkening with age into rich reddish or deep browns. Highly iridescent with complex shimmering grain patterns like fiddleback or-flamed quilting.
