A fantastic Toki handcrafted from a stunning piece of Kahotea Pounamu. Beautiful shades of green in this example of Pounamu. The stone is soft to touch and the creamy tan coloured cord brings out the white streaks.
Toki/Adze – The Toki had much meaning for the Māori, fashioned from stone or greenstone it was an essential tool for survival and day to day life for the Māori. That is the reason Māori attribute the spiritual meaning of strength and power to the Toki. This symbol represents Mana, determination, control, strength, focus and honour.
Kahotea – Pounamu from the Greenstone, West Coast area. A type streaked or flecked with white. The name Kahotea derives from Kaho, meaning light coloured tea (white or clear.)
