Moko Pounamu Toki NZ Genuine Hapopo Greenstone - Tuamarina
This slender Hapopo Toki reveals a beautiful two tone quality that sets it apart the upper section glows with a pale, almost translucent jade green, while the body deepens into a rich olive green mottled with dark brown and near black mineral inclusions. The natural contrast between these tones gives the piece a quiet drama, as though light is breaking through cloud.
The black cord is wound in clean, tight horizontal wraps around the upper section, threading through a small hole at the crown a simple, traditional binding style that allows the stone to speak entirely for itself. This is a piece for those who appreciate subtlety a taonga that carries deep meaning without needing to announce itself.
Toki/Adze – The Toki had much meaning for the Māori, fashioned from stone or greenstone it was an essential tool for survival and day to day life for the Māori. That is the reason Māori attribute the spiritual meaning of strength and power to the Toki. This symbol represents Mana, determination, control, strength, focus and honour.
