A striking Toki carving made from genuine Hapopo pounamu sourced from the West Coast of New Zealand. The stone displays soft moss-green tones with distinctive natural dark inclusions and cloud-like patterning that give the piece depth and character. The Toki, or adze, is a powerful symbol of strength, authority and determination, reflecting the importance of the tool in traditional Māori life. Finished with a smooth polish and traditional binding, this carving highlights the raw natural beauty of Hapopo pounamu and makes a meaningful taonga.

Toki/Adze – The Toki had much meaning for the Māori, fashioned from stone or greenstone it was an essential tool for survival and day to day life for the Māori. That is the reason Māori attribute the spiritual meaning of strength and power to the Toki. This symbol represents Mana, determination, control, strength, focus and honour.
