Moko Pounamu Roimata NZ Genuine (Nelson) Te Tau Ihu Kokopu Greenstone - Mahana
Carved by Marshall Johnston from Tasman Nelson Kokopu stone, this elongated pendant features a flowing koru cut into one side. The open spiral curls inward, creating a striking focal point within the gently curved outline. Muted grey-green and olive tones are scattered with fine dark speckles, while a warm golden-brown accent along the lower edge adds contrast and individual character.
Smoothly rounded edges and softly contoured surfaces give the carving depth, with the recessed area around the koru catching the light. The tapered lower tip balances the broader upper section, creating an elegant silhouette. Finished with a natural-toned braided cord and dark binding, this pendant pairs clean sculptural lines with the richly patterned beauty of Kōkopu stone.
Roimata - Teardrop- Named for their teardrop shape, meaning tears of sadness or grief, and are widely regarded as touchstones in healing and meditation. It is often called the comfort stone and given to show sympathy, shared emotion and that they, the receiver, is not alone in their grief. The drop pendants are also believed to represent a connection to the whenua (the land) Aotearoa (New Zealand).

Also known as trout-stone named after the dark brown, olive green and yellowish markings found on the three species of native freshwater trout.
