Whetū Rātana - Symbol of Spiritual Strength
The Rātana Star
is a sacred emblem of the Rātana movement, symbolising spiritual strength and divine purpose. Its light reflects guidance from Ihoa and the balance of heaven and earth. The five points represent the living elements of faith - unity, spirit, truth, hope, and service. In Pounamu, the Whetū Rātana shines as a reminder of wairua, resilience, and connection to the divine.
Kawakawa- is the most common variety of Pounamu. it comes in many shades - from strong, rich green to dark green - and often has small dark flecks, which add to its character. Named after the leaf of the Kawakawa. It is the main type used in gem purposes.
