Moko Pounamu Mjölnir Thor's Hammer NZ Genuine Kawakawa Greenstone - Hama
A fantastic Mjölnir Thor's hammer handcrafted from a wonderful piece of Kawakawa Pounamu. A beautiful carving, a symbol of protection, divine power and cosmic strength.
Mjölnir- is the hammer of the thunder god Thor in Norse mythology used both as a devastating weapon and as a divine instrument to provide blessings. The hammer is commonly worn as a pendant. Worn as protective amulets and symbols of faith, Mjölnir means "that which smashes" or "lightning" in Old Norse. It was forged by the dwarfs Sindri and Brokkr as part of a wager with the trickster god Loki. It never misses its mark and always returns to Thor's hand after being thrown. Thor uses it to protect gods and mortals and to hallow sacred events.
Kawakawa- is the most common variety of Pounamu. It comes in many shades - from strong, rich green to dark green - and often has small dark flecks, which add to its character. Named after the leaf of the Kawakawa. It is the main type used for jewellery purposes.
