Moko Pounamu Kuru Genuine NZ Inanga Greenstone - Omanawanui
This Kuru is hand carved from Inanga Pounamu, shaped with a clean and graceful form that lets the stone’s natural character stand out. Soft shifts in tone and gentle variation run through the piece, brought forward by a polished finish. A simple, elegant pendant.
Kuru/Drop- Drop pendants are regarded as touch stones for meditation and representing a connection to the whenua (the land) Aotearoa (New Zealand). The Kuru design is a simple slender length of pounamu worn to encourage knowledge, confidence and independence.
Inanga – This pounamu takes its name from a freshwater fish native to New Zealand. It is pale and often transparent, like the young of the Inanga fish. It is pearly white to grey green in colour, and ranges from translucent to quite opaque. It can change colour over time, developing a light olive tint as it ages and oxidises - Highly prized by the Māori and the desired material for making Mere and Patu.
