This contemporary koru pendant is carved from Raukaraka pounamu, showing a vibrant mid green base with warm honey and russet streaks running through the stone, giving the piece a lively, mottled character with flecks of darker inclusions scattered throughout. The form is a single, bold koru, with one side drawn out into a long, tapering point and the other curling back into a tight inner spiral, creating a dynamic, leaf-like silhouette that captures the koru's symbolism of new life and growth. A black cord with a simple woven knot, allowing the pendant to hang freely. The stone is polished to a glassy, high gloss lustre that brings out the depth of colour and the natural warm banding within the piece.

Koru- The Maori word for bright or loop. It refers to the shoots of the silver fern. The circular movement to the inner core refers to "going back to the beginnings". The unfurling frond itself is symbolic for new life, new beginnings, hope, personal growth, purity nurturing, a new phase in life, the spirit of rejuvenation and peace.

Raukaraka- Genuine West Coast Greenstone from the Taramakau River Area. This is the term used by the Māori of the Cook Strait region of the Kawakawa variety that is streaked with a shade of olive green and has yellow and orange hues that blend into the greens. This stone shares its name with the New Zealand native Karaka tree.
