These stunning Gold Plated Tungsten Carbide and Greenstone Band Rings are just gorgeous - the Genuine NZ Kawakawa Pounamu has been chipped and set in resin, making it extremely tough and durable. They have a comfort band making them nice to wear all day. We now have a selection of smaller sizes in the wide band design.
Tungsten Carbide
is one of the strongest metals available, it is tarnish resistant, scratch resistant and hypoallergenic. Unlike some other metals like gold, which can contain allergenic metals like nickel, tungsten carbide is made from tungsten and carbon, elements that are not typically known to cause allergic reactions. This makes it a good choice for people with sensitive skin or metal allergies.
Kawakawa- is the most common variety of Pounamu. It comes in many shades - from strong, rich green to dark green - and often has small dark flecks or light inclusions, which add to its character. Named after the leaf of the Kawakawa. It is the main type used for gem purposes.
