This pendant is handcrafted from Kawakawa Pounamu set with a Sterling Silver bar pinned through the stone using 9ct gold studs. Displaying deep green tones with natural shifts of colour, the silver and gold accents adds a contemporary touch to the simple rectangular form. Finished with smooth, clean edges, it’s a modern Greenstone pendant with understated style and balance.
Kawakawa- is the most common variety of Pounamu. it comes in many shades - from strong, rich green to dark green - and often has small dark flecks, which add to its character. Named after the leaf of the Kawakawa. It is the main type used in gem purposes.
