This Sterling Silver ring features a large green Kawakawa Pounamu cabochon set in a high claw mount that allows light to enhance the stone’s natural depth and sheen. The beautiful band design gradually thickens to the point it joins the setting - a wonderful taonga.
Kawakawa- is the most common variety of Pounamu. It comes in many shades - from strong, rich green to dark green - and often has small dark flecks, which add to its character. Named after the leaf of the Kawakawa. It is the main type used for gem purposes.
