This beautiful ring features a large oval Kawakawa Pounamu cabochon in a 9ct Gold bevel setting and band. Around the bevel setting is a small ridge perfectly designed to accentuate the Greenstone cabochon - a gorgeous combination of this precious metal and stunning New Zealand Jade - a fabulous taonga.
Kawakawa- is the most common variety of Pounamu. it comes in many shades - from strong, rich green to dark green - and often has small dark flecks, which add to its character. Named after the leaf of the Kawakawa. It is the main type used in gem purposes.
