This taonga serves as a reminder of the wearer’s strength—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Wearing a Kouma connects a person to their ancestors, carrying forward their mana and wisdom. – Pounamu from the Greenstone, West Coast area. A type streaked or flecked with white. The name Kahotea derives from Kaho, meaning light coloured tea (white or clear).
