A wonderful Pikorua hand crafted from a beautiful piece of Kawakawa Pounamu, this pendant is suspended from a9ct Gold bail which is set with diamonds - a really lovely combination of colours with the dark Kawakawa Greenstone set against the gold.
Pikorua- The Māori single twist or Pikorua resembles two intertwined pikopiko ferns. Representing the paths of ‘life and love’ or ‘friendship or eternity’. Because the Pikorua stands for infinite partnership, it makes it a perfect gift for lovers, newlyweds, fiancées, or others who want to emphasise their connection, their love for each other, their loyalty and friendship.
Kawakawa- is the most common variety of Pounamu. it comes in many shades - from strong, rich green to dark green - and often has small dark flecks, which add to its character. Named after the leaf of the Kawakawa. It is the main type used in gem purposes.
New Zealand Greenstone is best described as being one thousand and one different colours and shades. No two items made from New Zealand Greenstone are exactly alike. The range of colours that are unique to New Zealand Greenstone set it apart from the rest of the world!
