With its gorgeous flowing lines and deep velvety black hue, this handcrafted Australian Black Jade Pendant encloses a beautiful iridescent Gold Lip Pearl. This captivating one-of-a-kind piece captures the light in so many different ways it is sure to be a treasured taonga.
Yellow/Gold Lip Pearl- from the Pinctada Maxima oyster, these special pearls are cultured in the same region and can also be known as Black or Tahitian Pearls - but are distinct from the Black Pearl type because the oyster used for the perliculture is of a different species and produces pearls which are generally divided into white or gold pearls.
Black Jade
– Australian Black Jade hails from Cowell on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula. Coveted globally for its high quality, Australian Black Jade combines beautiful midnight blacks, with a medium to fine grain, allowing the gem to achieve a very high polish, and is sought after by serious carvers. It is still part of the greenstone family, so it will still shine green under bright light.
