A lovely mini Toki, beautifully carved from a wonderful piece of Kawakawa greenstone. Each one unique in its own right.
We are offering two of these beautiful carvings at a seriously discounted price and they will be shipped in a flax kete ready for presenting to a loved one.
These are examples of the carvings that you will receive, you will not received one of these exact pieces but two that are very similar. This is due to each piece being carved from natural Greenstone and the colouring will differ depending on the elements in the stone.
The Toki (Adze) – The Toki had much meaning for the Maori, fashioned from stone or greenstone it was an essential tool for survival and day to day life for the Maori. That is the reason Maori attribute the spiritual meaning of strength and power to the Toki. This symbol resembles determination, control, strength, focus and honour.
Roimata/Teardrop - Named for their teardrop shape, meaning tears of sadness or grief, and are widely regarded as touchstones in healing and meditation. It is often called the comfort stone and given to show sympathy, shared emotion and that they, the receiver, is not alone in their grief.The drop pendants are also believed to represent a connection to the whenua (the land) Aotearoa (New Zealand).
