Porohita/The Disc - Represents the circle of life which has no beginning or end. It means you have a choice to do and achieve whatever you want to in life. Its curved lines also represent the idea of energy and movement and like the cyclical nature of time and seasons, where one path ends, another begins. The Disc is also believed to have protective qualities and can symbolize a shield or a boundary that keeps negative influences and harm at bay.

Sculpture - Totoweka- This stone is usually like the mid green Kawakawa variety but differs in that the spotting or streaks are red like blood. It is rare to find Totoweka in the Westland jade fields, but when a piece is discovered, it is highly cherished and sometimes becomes the show piece of the fossicker’s collection. Large deposits of Totoweka occur in the South Westland area. The name comes from toto (blood), weka (Native bush hen) or weka blood. The red iron oxide inclusions were likened to the colour of blood of the Weka.

Base - Basalt is a mafic extrusive rock, is the most widespread of all igneous rocks, and comprises more than 90% of all volcanic rocks, used widely by Maori for tools and weapons.
