This striking Toki Adze pendant is carved from genuine Hapopo Pounamu sourced from the West Coast of New Zealand. The long rectangular form reflects the traditional adze shape used by Māori as an important tool for carving and building. The stone displays beautiful natural marbling with soft green tones and darker mineral patterns, making each piece completely unique. Finished with traditional cord binding, the pendant celebrates both the natural character of the pounamu and the cultural significance of the toki as a symbol of strength, determination and achievement.

Toki/Adze – The Toki had much meaning for the Māori, fashioned from stone or greenstone it was an essential tool for survival and day to day life for the Māori. That is the reason Māori attribute the spiritual meaning of strength and power to the Toki. This symbol represents Mana, determination, control, strength, focus and honour.

Hapopo- Genuine West Coast Greenstone. It's colour ranges from medium green to a dark forest green with a unique mottled texture. The name originating from Kā Umu o Hapopo (Big Bay) which is in Poutini ki te toka (South Westland).
