Moko Pounamu Toki Genuine NZ Kahotea Greenstone - Opito
This Toki is hand carved from Kahotea Pounamu, showing beautiful lighter green tones soft natural patterns. The striking design has cut-outs on either side of a central area allowing the cord to pass through and bind cleanly around the piece. With its strong form and smooth finish, it carries a grounded presence and refined, modern character.
Toki/Adze – The Toki had much meaning for the Māori, fashioned from stone or greenstone it was an essential tool for survival and day to day life for the Māori. That is the reason Māori attribute the spiritual meaning of strength and power to the Toki. This symbol resembles determination, control, strength, focus and honour.
Kahotea
– Genuine West Coast Pounamu that is streaked or flecked with white. The name Kahotea derives from Kaho, meaning light coloured tea (white or clear)
