These lovely heart earrings have been hand carved from Kawakawa Pounamu and finished with 9ct Yellow Gold findings. The stone displays rich green tones with gentle natural variation, and the softly curved heart form gives them a timeless, graceful quality - elegant and beautifully crafted taonga.

Kawakawa- is the most common variety of Pounamu. It comes in many shades - from strong, rich green to dark green - and often has small dark flecks, which add to its character. Named after the leaf of the Kawakawa. It is the main type used for gem purposes.
