Porohita- The Disc- Represents the circle of life which has no beginning or end. It means you have a choice to do and achieve whatever you want to in life. Its curved lines also represent the idea of energy and movement and like the cyclical nature of time and seasons, where one path ends, another begins. The Disc is also believed to have protective qualities and can symbolize a shield or a boundary that keeps negative influences and harm at bay.
Kokopu- Greenstone from the Nelson Tasman region. Comes in many colour variations from light to dark browns, creamy whites, light blues, olive greens to yellow even golden. Also known as trout-stone named after the dark brown, olive green and yellowish markings found on the three species of native freshwater trout. The spotted textures and range of colour give this stone a diverse presence.
Moko Pounamu- for over 40 years Moko Pounamu has both supported and contributed to the life and breath of Pounamu Carving in Aotearoa New Zealand. The extraordinary and varied qualities of this stone, also known as Greenstone (and more technically Nephrite Jade), is displayed across our range of carvings and jewellery. We are proud to support the work of many talented craftspeople local to our beautiful country, and we love sharing this range with you.
