Nominate and Celebrate a Community Hero!

Who is your Community Hero?

At Moko Pounamu, we want to acknowledge the incredible people who are doing amazing things for the youth of Aotearoa New Zealand all year round.

We know that there are many people working in our communities who might be going largely unacknowledged, but the beneficial impact of their mahi on others is massive.

Often they are volunteers who give their time and energy to help others, but they don't always get seen for their contributions.

Do you know someone who has made a significant difference in your life or the lives of others?

It might be a teacher who was there for you during a hard time, a school counsellor who always goes above and beyond, a friend who needs to be acknowledged for the good they do, or someone in your community who works with tamariki or young people.

Nominate your Hero and they could be gifted a Moko Pounamu I am Hope Porohita pendant as well as I AM HOPE merchandise!

All entries must be received no later than November 3rd, 2025.

How to Nominate your Hero

It's super easy! Just click on the link to the Community Hero nomination form, fill it in and submit, and your person will be entered.

If you would like to support the good work of the I am Hope Trust with young people around the country, you might want to consider buying something from our I am Hope collection. Funds from each one of these special items are donated to I am Hope to help pay for counselling services for tamariki.

New born baby sleeping
By Louise Wedlake October 10, 2025
The arrival of a pēpi (baby) ignites any whānau with joy and a sense of connection. As we gather for their naming, tohi (dedication), or baptism, we seek taonga that embody our hopes and anchor them to their whakapapa.
