Aroha stone – Aroha stone is found only in certain parts of Otago and Southland New Zealand. First discovered from the Shotover River in the beautiful mountains of Central Otago, Piemontite Schist stone was initially recorded as a Quartz-Muscovite-Piemontite Schist Boulder.

These gorgeous stones in a stunning pale pink to a deep dark purple contain thousands of little flecks of Mica giving the stone its famous shimmer. They look especially stunning when wet, like dew drops glistening in the morning sun.

The Aroha stone is known to choose its guardian, meaning the stone will speak to you and traditionally it is thought best to be gifted not brought. Aroha is the meaning of “unconditional love” in Māori and carries a feminine energy with an energetic, strong vibration.
