Product Details

Traditionally used by Maori in Rongoa (healing medicine from plants) to alleviate skin conditions such as eczema and ulcers, this native plant has striking purple flowers and orange berries. Poroporo was planted around Maori settlements to provide ripe orange berries to eat (the unripe, yellow berries are poisonous!), along with leaves used to line a hangi to enhance flavour.

Sterling silver flower (16mm height, including jump ring) x 13mm width, hand painted with porcelain paint in tonal purples, with a gold centre. Suspended from a 45cm sterling silver chain, with a 5cm extender.

Please note:

Lilygriffin jewellery is dainty and delicate, so care must be taken when wearing and storing it.

Please do not wear while exercising, swimming, gardening, showering, cleaning or sleeping. Store in a soft protective pouch or box out of direct sunlight and away from moisture, excessive heat or cold. Please do not store in the bathroom. Avoid contact with household chemicals, perfumes, creams, and hairspray/gels.

I would be delighted if you wanted to wear my jewellery everyday, but please be aware that you will be able to enjoy your handpainted and 24k gold embellished pieces longer if they are not worn on a day to day basis.

Please see care instructions for these earrings on our Customer Service Page. Please DO NOT use silver dip for cleaning.
